No complaint here. Just wondering about the next move. In April or May I trimmed my holdings and lost out on some (additional) gains.

Not sure whether I want to do another trim or just let it ride. All of the money is earmarked long term...

Whenever I think about this, Jim Cramer's saying echoes in my head "Pigs get slaughtered..."

Red this morning.

Looks like the market wanted to finish in positive territory before the long weekend.

Less stress for the traders to take to the Hamptons...

The last 2 days had some great buying opportunities. Unfortunately, I did all my buying Thursday instead of Friday.

To make it more fair we can mod it like this:
Below 22,000 - You win and I send $50 to charity
Over 26,400 - I win and you send $50 to charity
In-between 22,000 and 26,400 we both send $50 to charity.

It concludes at closing on Friday September 25.
The Dow closed at 27,173.96 on Friday.

My choice would be the Appalachian Trail Conservancy

I'm more worried about the next few weeks. But when isn't that true, right?

We have some cash being freed up in the next few days from the sale of a property....figure I can probably get some good stocks on sale.
Anyone see Exxon's dividend is at like 10%?? Might have to get in on that..

I wonder if there has ever been a study of how many 10% dividend plays worked out well. What I have observed in the last decade is that most stocks with dividends over 10% have cut their dividends within a couple of years and the stock has dropped a lot.

Fossil fuel companies are square in the sights of ESG investors globally so there is a mighty headwind to fight over the next 10 years. I have heard that Exxon will not be able to convert to an alternative energy company and maintain its dividend.

But an O&G analyst I respect thinks oil prices are going down over the next six months but will be up nicely in 2022 and 2023 based on all the US production coming off line today.

Generically, I like 4-6% dividend plays with growth prospects better than 10% plays. But I am not a stock guy.
