PSA: Sean Yates Motorola? Ebay...

no relation - and a steep price, but what looks to be an amazing frame, if you're in to that kind of thing - description says they also have the 7-eleven as well, if you want to complete a collection!!!

He's also got an eddy cross frame for sale. What could be cooler?

Probably not a ton of Yates' team race bikes out there, still probably very few would ever consider this frame at that price.

I'm just going to wait until something with a 60tt comes along, (were any 7-11/Motorola riders 6'5" ?) oh and also waiting until one is reasonably affordable.

Buy 'em both for only $3500!

Wow, crazy prices, but if that's your thing then it's certainly an opportunity that doesn't come along every day.

The complete Julich MXL hasn't sold or even gotten a bid at $2500, so that should give some indication of the market on these, unless you just have to have Yates's frames.

Curious if you have ever seen a Merckx with a 60cm top tube? I haven't...

Only on real monster frames....recall seeing a 65cm with a 60TT, but most of the other "big" EM frames I've seen top out at 59

I vaguely remember an Andreu (I think) team bike that I recall was 60 square. Maybe I'm wrong though, either way a Motorola bike is on my want list but not my pay grade.

I've seen a few ads that say 60cm top tube, but when pressed and they measure them it's always 59.5cm at best. I think alot of us would love to see a custom framed Merckx at say 64x60 or 64x61.....

I've got one that's 62 x 61TT, custom (obviously) for some late '80s Belgian division III pro (E. van Gils). Made of some combo of SL/SP with no chrome or front der hanger. Wonderful bike.

Ive got Andy Hampsten's Moto Merckx frameset made with Reynolds 753, though stickered with Columbus TSX. It's in roughish condition, though no rust. I rescued it from its commuter duty, and it still has some reflective tape affixed. The seller knew a former mechanic who sold it to him. He told me itd belonged to a "good" rider named, Hamstein, or sumpthin' like that (insert Kentucky drawl).

I've wondered whether it's more valuable in its present, unrestored state, or whether to refinish it? Or then again, whether to sell it since I'm closer to the 59-60cm TT size too, and it'll always be too small.

nice, but i'd prefer the 7-11 yates frame w/ proper chrome rear-end he's sellling. would be tough to locate the corresponding chrome fork if not included, though.
