OT: Beating the heat...

Supposed to be in the upper 90's this weekend, a little high for this neck of the woods. No problem though, a little tinkering-hammering-sawing and screwing and I think I got it covered. The heat isn't going to stop me from working in the yard!!!

It’s 107 here today...I know it’s hotter in AZ/ the desert but I’m in wooded N. California I can’t believe it

Using the opportunity to pickle/can and figure out what I’m going to do with the hundreds of tomatillos I’m about to have

My family back in the U.K. have just endured a heat wave, but unlike the U.S., nobody has air conditioning and houses are all built of brick, with a lot of insulation to keep the heat in. Really feel for them. The U.K. is not prepared for 100 degree temps.

I feel bad complaining about the temperature in SoCal seeing as there’s air conditioning everywhere...!

you might consider hanging the generator below the deck to lower the COG.

It will still be cool at 6:00 AM.....see you on the road!

111 here but the humidity is 7%. But still, 111 degrees and I'm at 4000 feet. Last summer when the weekend forecast was 100+, I'd pack up the MTB and head for Flagstaff where it would be 20 degrees cooler. This summer my weekends are dedicated to a thesis.

The A/C went out in my suv many years ago, and I never bothered to fix it. Ran some errands this morning and saw a peak of 118F on the freeway.

Toasty...

Near 110 today near Tucson today. Tried to beat the heat with a ride up Mt Graham near Safford AZ w/some buddies. The goal was to get to the top and ride some of the dirt roads. Should have taken the road bike. Hearing all that gravel talk...I should have had faith in a strong road bike for not too rocky roads. Near the top at 9000', 85 degrees. Learned a few more things about fluids, salt, and nutrition...and not to ride that hill with a mountain bike!

Saving grace was the ride back down w/disk brakes.

The heat beat me...
