When a Man Loves a Woman (Andy Garcia/ Meg Ryan)
My Life (Michael Keaton/Nicole Kidman) .....both great movies...both tear jerkers.

Here are a couple others: Skin Deep with John Ritter. Very funny, the glow in the dark rubber scene is hilarious. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098343/ Clean and Sober with Michel Keaton. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094884/ |

Very similar story...except I was not successful on holding back the tears. I imagine as a new(er) dad, I would be even less successful now.

Unless you're a diehard sci fi fan you probably haven't heard of these:
Logan's Run. Very unsettling in its theme like Soylent Green. Forbidden Planet (1956, I think). Great premise and cast. Walter Pidegon, Leslie Nielson, Ann Francis, Earl Holloman, Jack Kelly and last, but not least, Robbie the Robot of Lost in Space fame. |

Y Tu Mama Tambien - mexican coming of age road trip flick
Titus - stylish adaptation of Titus Andronicus, the first tragedy by Shakespeare, meant to please the howling plebs who went to see his shows. It's as if Shakespeare collaborated with Tarantino and took inspiration from The Cook, Thief, Wife, and Lover. Anthony Hopkins plays Titus...

Another overlooked classic which sometimes shows up on TCM, A Face in the Crowd. Elia Kazan directed it and Andy Griffith is exceptional in his first role.
