Since I retired I find Monday mornings are the best time during week. It seems after the working crowd arrives at their jobs the roads are mostly clear. I try to do my longest rides of the week then. As a side note the worst time is when school is being dismissed, so many crazy parents rushing around and driving like an Andretti.

This is truth. The worst time is mid-afternoon.

The worst day is Saturday unless in mid-summer I can bang out a 2-hour ride by 8AM or so. Saturdays bring out some of the worst and dumbest traffic with everyone running their errands. Best time is mid-week, departing the house mid-morning. Sometimes in the summer I get going as early as 6 AM to avoid the worst heat and finish even longish rides by late morning.

Weekdays after everyone has made it to work. I will say that's changed a little since the work from home thing. However, Saturday morning is the absolute worst day in my opinion. EVERYONE is trying to pack a weeks worth of errands, chores and carting kids to sporting events/activities.

Mini vans with a stick figure families on the back window are the worst of the worst.
