Well, we got what we expected: there's an Italian-speaking nation in the World Cup, alright. But it's not Repubblica Italia, rather it's Svizerra.
Switzerland to the World Cup, Italy to play-offs. |

Mind boggling given the squadra adzzura's form until mid year...

And Jorgino is the exhibit A of that, believing himself to be worthy of winning Ballon d'Or. Granted, he played an important role for both Chelsea and Italy, but it's doubtful that he's even the top three midfielders on a European national team. Now it seems that whatever the penalty-kick gods giveth, they shall taketh as well. Rather poetically appropriate to see Italy miss out because of a Jorgino penalty attempt. Canada - Mexico is at dos a cero in the 66th minute. They’re playing in Edmonton, so you get one guess as to who is ahead.

Goodness, LLL Tri is composed of a bunch of petulant toddlers. Can’t win it on the pitch, so its players tries to stir s*** up afterwards.
LLL Tri players take a look at themselves in the mirror. Utterly classless. Also, gotta love the Canadian GK. Came up with a vital safe, then cool headed enough to remind his teammates not to engage the toddlers. Last edited by echappist; 11-17-2021 at 12:02 AM. |

Watford 4 - Man United 1
I didn't see the game (as it was on Peacock) I did a double take as I thought they got the scored reversed by accident. Well done, Watford.

Could have been 5 - 1, I think (Sarr missed a penalty, was allowed a retake, and missed again) What has your team done? Now Ole's gonna get sacked in the morning, and the fun will be over for everyone else. Last edited by echappist; 11-20-2021 at 12:46 PM. |

But then Chelsea will lose its stalwart GK in the process as well. All to play for. |

All in all, this portends to be an interesting season on both ends of the table.

I watched the replay on Peacock. Did I miss something? Is it significant that there was -0- celebration after Donny van de Beek scored for the Red D’s?

Italy drawn into same semifinal as Portugal
So either Italy or Portugal (and slight possibility that both) will not make it
If Italy wins its first match, it will have to play away in the final. Bit unfair. These should be neutral grounds or two-legged Last edited by echappist; 11-26-2021 at 10:39 AM. |

This, to me (Azzurri fan) this is crazy- makes no sense. Scotland, Ukraine, Wales, or Austria will make it, while either Portugal or Italy will not. It's a joke that the 6th and 7th best ranked teams in the world maybe fighting it out for a place at the WC! |

The previous Nations League winners (POR) and the reigning European Champions (ITA) deserve better.
I really don't like the new format. Much less chance of success for teams finishing second. This should be organized more like the UCL, with preliminary rounds before group stage proper. |
