Installing a mechanical group onto electronic frame FINAL RESULT

I put a clamp on RD hanger, (flopped over with a notch cut in it for a derailleur stop), on a track bike along with an RD, six speed freewheel on road wheels, and full length housing with clamp on DT shifter mounts and right shifter. Worked great in 1983.

If I should, in the end, decide to go for a 9150 DA Di2 upgrade kit, what junction boxes/wires etc should I order? I just what whatever is minimally needed for shifting gears only, don't need any Bluetooth stuff or whatever ( I know ZERO about this stuff. Any help/advise would be appreciated). -Jeff N.

go etap, save the headache. You can install it all in 30 minutes, it works amazing and some really good used deals in the classifieds.

No wires, no junction boxes, nothing to fish through, nothing to come undone. Yeah, I don’t know why anyone would want to use DI2...

Oh, as a bonus, it works seamlessly ( wirelessly ) with newer Garmin cycle computers.

Finally done with the mechanical group installation on this CANYON that was designed for wired electronics. All derailleur cables and full-length housing passed through the frame without any problem whatsoever, no modifications were done anywhere, and everything works exactly as it should. What really allowed this was the fact that the DA9100 FD has a built-in cable housing stop. It would not have been possible otherwise. So, anyway, there ya have it......it's a done deal.

I'd look around for a rubber grommet (or something) to fill the rest of the hole where the r-der housing comes out of the back end of the chainstay.

if you're handy with a paring knife, wine cork and drill, that's what i would do!

I'm going to be honest...this frame is easily the most cheaply constructed (their corporate offices are in Germany, but frames are Asian made), thinest-walled Chiwan carbon frame I've ever seen/owned. I'd NEVER sell it to someone here, so I feel safe saying this. This is definitely a "catch and release" kinda deal. I think this one is an earlier model so maybe they've increased quality...I dunno. I'm just glad I didn't pay more for it than I did.
