It's sad to see them go. Like others, I have made numerous purchases over the years and thoroughly enjoyed the catalog too. I still have CC-built Open Pro wheels (DA hubs) from 2002 that are as true today as they were originally, now with tens of thousands of miles.

Ugh. I just got my order today (Nexus cog) but they sent the wrong color. Guess I’ll need to order the correct one from somewhere else. Can’t get through them on the phone.

I was in the Colorado Springs area mountain biking and running in 1998 while my house was being built. The Ritchie pedals on my mtb would not release when hitting mud. Went to CC and they told me Time ATAC pedals is what I wanted. They were right. No matter how muddy those Time pedals released and engaged no matter what.
I’ve bought bikes, hand built wheels and thousands of dollars of components from them over the years. Did buy my XO1 AXS shifteR and derailleur from them in a time when they were hard to get and the only place to not charge me sales tax.xx They have not been my go to in a while other than the X01 but they will be missed.

Hate to see it but I’ll contribute to their final cash flow. Got a Red AXS cassette for $150 and a Red AXS chain for $30 which I’ll take as a pretty good deal.

Colorado Cyclist has already been dead since they were bought out by Velo (parent of Planet Cyclery), and their store front was closed and all their operations were merged with Planet Cyclery. This latest action is simply the dead corpse being buried.

Planet Cyclery had good prices, but the way things arrived turned me off to them. Packing was really poor |

Having ordered a few times from them in the past, this is nothing new. They had to cut costs somewhere even before they started to go under.

I loved seeing all the litespeeds and looks and good frames back in the day in the catalogues

Thanks for the heads up. I went to PC and got two Gravelking slicks for $35 and three SRAM XX1 11s chains for $28 each. These have been the most durable chains I have used. I have 5 bikes running 11s so these will get stripped and waxed in the crockpot, then into the drawer.

I used to love their catalogs so much, and mail ordered with them lots back in the day.

Velomine recently had blowout prices on 3T complete bikes w/Ekar, at about 50% off. Not normal.

In the early 90s, I remember how cool it was to get the Colorado Cyclist catalog. Every model of Litespeed and their home brand of Douglas.

Their site has always been slow. That is literally one of the reasons I haven't shopped there. I used to love their catalog and 20 years ago they were my go-to place when my LBS didn't have what I needed. Sad.

But (Vendor) Bike Tires Direct has been great.
