Spring MTB destinations near(ish) Denver?

Hey PL, any ideas for several days of MTB within a few hours drive of Denver? I'll be there at the end of April and looking for an interesting destination.

Hut-to-hut (supported) would be ideal, but can also just be an interesting town with good riding nearby.

What's out there?

If it's not immediately on the Front Range, (i.e. Golden, Boulder, FtCo, Springs), then it will probably still be snow covered in late April. July is usually the "opening date" for most of the true high country. That said, you could do a lot of good riding in any or all of those towns.

Is Fruita (4 hrs drive) close enough? They should be dry, and it's a world class MTB destination.

ETA: If Fruita works for you and you want a multiday excursion, the Kokopelli should be OK. Maybe snowmelty in the LaSals, but the desert portions should be primo.
