I never had luck selling things on CL but then I live out in the Boonies too. If I had a bunch of NASCAR memorabilia it would probably sell like hot cakes, but Campy Record ten speed? Not a chance. I have been looking for a new car too, well and old one but new to me. I like how you can filter out the dealerships.

I need to try ebay. I have a couple of frames that are not selling here. Maybe the wider audience will help. Haven't sold on ebay in many years, though, so I'll have to read up on what the fees are.

facebook has turned into a great resource.

Couldn’t agree more. Moved to Temecula CA 18 months ago from Spokane WA. Selling anything down here is a pita

Depending on the item, if its bike parts or bike I start off in forums, while listing on CL and then if it doesn't I reluctantly go to eBay and will direct traffic from the forum and CL to the eBay listing.

Have bought and sold on EBay for years, cars, bikes, parts, lot's of stuff and have had only one problem (small amount) which was resolved by EBay/PP easily. I generally factor in the fees but sometimes I take a small hit..it all comes out in the wash...
I bought my first bike on CL and in retrospect , I probably paid too much..noob inexperience...I've not used FB Marketplace but in an upcoming move to the Phoenix Az area, I'll probably use all three (EBay, CL and FB) in order to buy a used pick-up
