Moser AX Leader?

Anyone ride/own one of these? Thoughts?

I've pretty much lost hope of ever finding a 54cm Merckx MX Leader, or a Pinarello Dogma Magnesium..
The Moser AX Leader was another on my list of possibilities, and they pop on on ebay fairly often...

I had one, briefly. It was too big, but it seemed really nice. Mine had the quill type seat post, frame was Dedacciai.

I would try another without hesitation.

My favorite of all of my bikes. I wouldn't hesitate to get one. It's a classic race bike, so don't expect much tire clearance.

See this post for a discussion about the AX seatpost....if the frame has one you're in luck. If not, it's a hassle....I've looked at a few over the years and rarely did they have the correct post.

Thanks all.
Yeah, familiar with the seat post....I guess if I find a frame I like, and can't fine a post, I could get it slotted and use a clamp...

I remember a while ago, few years ago at least I think, one with a new team gatorade paint job in my size sold on ebay before I saw it.... I think I cried a little...

That I would like too see..

Yeah the setpost been a problem for those frames, the other is the sizing, really tall and short so it is easy to misjudge them and end up with the wrong one, one thing for sure they must handle really quick.

Heard you cant put a clamp in there either, which I find really weird because the tube is steel...

I mis-remembered, mine was a TK-1. Look for one of those, too. Fillet brazed goodness. Ignore the saddle.

Magical

I had lots of 80s/90s steel bicycles. (Basso, Bottecchia, Colnago, DeRosa, Tommasini) The Leader AX is the only steel frameset I wish I didn't sell.

Btw

I also had a Pinarello Magnesium Dogma. The Moser was a better frameset - not even close.

Still love mine ...

I've had one for 8 years now and I'll never part with it. Have ridden a few double centuries on it - climbs very well, descends on rails. Since this original build I shod it with some full bling bonty race lite xxx clinchers which got it under 18 lbs. ready to ride and that ride with those wheels paired w/ the frame is indeed sublime.
