Very cool. Is it a manual? I inherited my dad’s 993 but was a bit older than 8 when he got it.

So the Turbo Diesels were never made available as manual in states. There could be some but it's most likely conversion and not factory. The 240D's (non turbo) were predominately manual but manual in 300D Turbo is almost non existent.

Would love to get a 240D with a manual one day but we're already getting hate mail from our HOA for too many cars

Nice allroad!

Lots of Porsches in this thread. I know why. Been lusting after a P-car for a long time, think I'll be replacing my allroad with a Macan next year... Still want a Cayman....

Thanks! I bought it new in 2001 and it has a whopping 65k miles on it, but I have had to do some expensive repairs. The known problem with the front shocks, but also the transmission (***?).

I feel you on the Macan. I've been planning to sell the 993 for a while now, and have considered unloading the Allroad at the same time then replacing the pair with a Macan. The problem is that the Allroad is barely worth anything even original owner, all records, low mileage, etc. Just makes more sense to keep it, I think.

OTOH, the EV thread has me very close to replacing our Prius with a just-off-lease i3. Planning to visit a local BMW dealer next weekend to start the process.
