I bet there's gotta be somebody here with a bumper sticker on their LC that says Land Rover Rescue Team |

$86k msrp, ouch!
can't help but feel like we're in the twilight years of good rugged gas powered automobiles though. the electric revolution is coming, like it or not. it will be interesting to see just how companies like toyota, with their storied legends like the taco and LC re-invent their icons with their commitments to go all electric by some date in the not so distant future.

While I have a deposit on a Rivian R1S, nonetheless took delivery of a new 200 series this month while still available. Here it is at the local Toyota dealership along with my 80-series, which for all its charms, consumes OEM parts at a voracious rate.

In my mind the 100 was the last good one, it misses some of the "fancy" stuff the 200 has but I like how robust the 4.2 diesel is in it, as well as being a rock solid vehicle in general. The newer diesels seem to have issues with dust ingestion (bit of dust inhaled and they go boom, 20k new motor required) and DPF issues... If you're buying new and have warranty I'm sure they're a great car and very capable off road, but for mine I don't think I would own any post-2007 diesel after that initial 5 year ownership period though. That is probably the worlds last turbo'd 4Runner in that kind of condition. And the "Barb Deserved Better" sticker on the window is just awesome |

These pics warm my heart. An LC actually being used and put through it's paces. There's nothing more sad than seeing badass LC's without a scratch on them. |

i'm (kind of half-heartedly) looking into buying a LC/LX, 100 series.
i drove a higher miles (~250k) 2001 100 series lx imprint land cruiser recently, i wasn't super into it. transmission felt like a truck transmission, and oof, with all 6000# of that thing it took some time to get going, even with the big v8 they put into it. Land Cruisers are great and all. Really. They're beautiful, very capable, and practically bulletproof.
But the pricing for these are just out of control!!! |

I just picked this up recently. 91 Syncro WBX tin top, pretty nicely decked out. My 7 year old already called dibs as me giving this van to her when she can drive. |
