I'm in again..

10,000mi ridden this year and I'm ending roughly where I started - in better shape, but still carrying more than I need to.. Losing weight isn't the priority, getting stronger and more resilient is - but I could still stand to do the things I need to do to eat better (more protein, less fat, eating enough during the day that I don't need cereal course at 11p, etc.) and that will naturally result in firming up and shedding some phat pounds.

(Kidding on that last one.)
Only drinking water and coffee is a great way to start, IMO.

In again. I’ll weigh myself before the end of the night to get an end of the year weight, but guessing I lost about 10 pounds. Not good enough, really. The holiday period has been terrible for me with family visiting. Drinking too much and late dinners are not a good mix for weight loss.

Goal this coming year is to ride a hell of a lot more, especially since my ice rink of choice is closing for renovations(ice hockey is my other form of exercise). Might even join a gym to do some strength training. I think disciplined eating is the biggest key for me going forward.

Hopefully it was okay that I renamed the tab to match the spreadsheet title (2022 -> 2023).

I lost 50 pounds in 2022 on Noom. My goal is slowly to approach a lower weight while adding hours in the saddle. I have four solid summer months in Wyoming to train for a 100-mile mountain bike race in September. I'm adding muscle, so I'll pay more attention to the fit of my clothes than the scale.

In!
Today is my ten year anniversary of retiring from the Navy. I was a real fat bastard when I punched out. The driver for my weight loss this year was to fit into my summer whites for my son's USNA graduation. I did it and lost about another 20 after that. It helped that I was commissioned as an officer when I was 15 years in and 35 years old.
