I do think the shoes look awful, but I already own a lot of shoe covers.

The price, the looks, none of that matters to me if they make my pain go away. If they don't, I'll send them back.

Also for those wondering, I was order #215, so there are at least a few of us crazy people out there willing to try the ugliest, most expensive shoes money can buy (for cycling).
Big money for the ‘things’ that touch the bike(hands, butt, FEET), is never a bad idea. Doing anything you really like, but you hurt doing it, is a fast track to hanging that gadget up and doing something else.

I LOVED to run…freedom, great places to run, really, really loved it. BUT gooned up Achilles’ tendons, no mas. I STILL miss it. Cycling seems so busy and involved by comparison.

Here's hoping you get tbe former. The latter we can probably do without.

$1900 is definitely not a lot of money to pay in my book if it gives you pain free cycling. Best wishes for success, would be interested to hear. Depending on your health insurance, you may be able to get coverage of sorts. I've paid for custom insoles with my health savings account, which is funded entirely by my employer, rather than pre-tax dollars out of my paycheck like a flex savings account.

My foot problems on the bike have been solved for the most part by getting custom orthotics. I don't really know how much they cost because insurance pays. The system of fitting them always seemed a little silly, they build a paper mache cast of your foot.

Man, I sure wish I had dorsal orthotic powers when I was a kid. Heck, I wish I had even HEARD of them.

Ride lots.
Um, well... Ahem! <cough>

I was looking up recommended pressure for my Pirelli P Zero Velo 4S tires. Turns out that they have "Functional Groove Design". Man, I sure wish I had that in high school, LOL!!!

Prototoast, any updates as when you expect to receive the shoes? Or if you have how are they working?

No, they have previously said they anticipate early November for when I would get the app to start build process. As of the last update, they said that timeline is still in effect. So as of right now, nothing new to share. Maybe in a few weeks I'll have some new insights.

In my experience, custom shoes are invariably too small, so the last time I ordered I did foot impressions with decently thick socks on. Worked great.

I hope they fix your foot problems, but man that website sure feels like a lot of sizzle and not much steak.

Another delay. They offered refunds to anyone who wanted one. Next update April 5. I'm still waiting.

So Crocs finally did enter the cycling market…

Just kidding, hoping those that bought find the relief they need!
