if your only need is to seat tubeless, then the blowgun tip/nozzle used on a valve with core removed is typical procedure when very stubborn tires don't seat with core in place (more air flow)

Health insurance or presta valve adapters?

Health insurance is for when the tire blows off the rim.

Any of those amazon trigger actuated heads linked above will work just fine. Steer clear of the boutique brands for this.

They're not the cheapest, but you won't find a better inflator head than EVT's offerings.

...and a glass of whiskey to calm the nerves afterwards.
I broke down and treated myself to the Park Tool INF-2 https://www.amazon.com/Park-Tool-373...a-471476488548 After fiddling about for years and years, I sold a kidney and bought one of these inflators, and I am so pleased! These things work a treat! So handy to have at the ready. No fussing about changing from schrader to Presta, and checking pressure, etc. It does all that in one operation. Highly recommend! |

Ellen just bought herself a small Bostitch nail gun kit which includes a small pancake compressor. Although I'm not a tubeless tire guy, I'd be interested as well in case the still unopened kit didn't come with something.

I bought an inflator with a gage at Harbor Freight and replaced the chuck with a Silca press on one. The gage isn't that accurate though, but it works.

Stuff on Amazon is frequently junque, so was looking to learn if there was a good version of that. Or if that one is fine

I have that one. It is fine. That said, I find that I don't use it that frequently. I use the air gun with core removed for snapping beads into place. I use the floor pump for top offs and general inflation needs. I don't really like to keep my mini-compressor filled with air so it's not that convenient to use for quick things.

So, I mounted the 650bx38 GK onto the rim, without changing out the crappy tape job or cheapo valve, and used the air nozzle fitting on the Senco with the valve core removed. Snapped that bead right into place, presto! Pumped it up with my Airmenius floor pump no problem.
No sealant, and for whatever reason, it didn't hold air very long. But I had to push the tire bead back into the center well of the rim to get it off, so that's a good sign! Thanks all! |

I glanced through all the replies but didn't see anyone mention this:

I recommend the Topeak Pressure-Rite Presta Valve Adapter with a built-in pressure gauge. It's a compact and easy-to-use adapter that allows you to connect your Senco PC1010 compressor to a Presta valve. This adapter is specifically designed for seating tubeless tires and provides accurate pressure readings. Make sure to use a standard quick connect adapter to connect it to your existing hose setup.
