this is why i hate selling stuff. what a mess.

in other words, as i see it: the issue is not with the seller, it's 100% with you.

again, sorry for being blunt, just offering my perspective.

No harm.
I’ll keep this in mind. Don’t message until I have all the loot. Maybe that will help things go smoother with these buyers.

Issues with Seller

I really want to buy it...

Wait...I have no money....

Says it all....

Waste of time for the seller.

Exactly why I hate selling items. Too many flakes out there.

Again, I disagree. If you will have money within a reasonable time frame and want some questions answered before making a decision, no problem reaching out to start the conversation. The inverse of what some are suggesting here is as a seller one should ship immediately upon receipt of payment. My experience is sellers usually ship within 1-7 days. Sometimes more.

A transaction is a conversation, as long as you are upfront about interest and timeframe, no harm. May not jive with every seller, but don’t know till you start the conversation.

Never said I have no money. Don’t know where you got that info from.

Good to see what some people are really like on these forums though...

so if you have the money, why wait till payday? that makes no sense.

I have held stuff for people here on the forum but on facebook for a totally random person, not a chance.

Just seems like you’re complaining about buying something before you can afford to buy it.

You’re not buying on credit from a retailer, waste of time for a seller . I’m speaking as someone who just sold a bike for a good price and still had to deal with all sorts of crack pots...very frustrating and makes selling items undesirable.

Generally in most of these transactions, the buyer has the money already. Some times that may not be the case and if so, the buyer should have no expectation that the seller will keep it on hold if another buyer presents themselves.

I'm sure many of us experienced sellers have had deals drag out only to have the buyer back out at the last minute for some reason. In the mean time, you've told other potential buyers that a deal is pending and lost a potential sale.

Unless I know the buyer, my deals are generally first paid, first served. If you've been on this forum long enough, you get to know who the reputable buyers and sellers are (there are some serious serial shoppers here )

Yeah this is what I’m saying. I’m gonna wait for the item to be packed, taken to the post office and then actual shipped to me in the US. I’m willing to wait though.

Plus if someone as a seller has a buyer that is set on buying why turn on that buyer? Previous experience with flaky buyers shouldn’t impact how new ones are treated.

Thanks for understanding my point of view.

My bet is he has the frame for sale in December. Try to get a better price then

I think seller is foolish to block a potential buyer for a relatively high dollar item. I’ve waited a week of messages before deals before.

not true, it absolutely does. I have been burned by holding stuff for people, in this same forum. So the same thing exactly. I makes me think twice now and would probably not do it for most people unless members I like/trust

i'm not trying to be argumentative, and i do hope the OP sees my advice as just that: advice, but from the dad in me:

...

if you want a luxury item that cost 1000 and you dont have at least a few thousand dollars as liquid money, knowing you will get paid dec 1, you rpobably cant actually afford the item.
