I won't buy but I see the appeal. Refresh is always in Adidas' wheelhouse.
First shoes I had 9in 1975 or 76' Had a cobbler tack on cleats when I couldn't figure out how to deal. |

I wear a set of Specialized Expert XC shoes regularly with normal clothes for commuting and often get questions from the clearly fashion-forward about them. They are a bit techwear-ish, wouldn't look out of place with a foam sole & Yeezy branding I think. Excited to see where this might lead in terms of designers from the wider world of shoe design coming to cycling and vice-versa, there's some cool stuff happening in both and I'd love to see some cross-pollination. At least let me buy normal-looking sneakers with Boas, how about...

So how do you pronounce Adidas? Accent on first or second syllable?

I thought the popular 5-10 off road shoes are made by Adidas? So they have been back for a while?

Anyone think these will pop up on the UK sites for sale with shipping to the US?

I had to retire a pair of the 1976 Vittoria's the other day.
I purchased a pair from France, but the photo matched my model, the product shipped did not. Those shoes were super comfortable. I ended up with a nice pair of Giro Empire VR90 HV. Aesthetically not as appealing, but I don't look at my feet much on the bike. I swapped out to Lock Laces. I don't like to worry about lace in the gears. |

I hope they bring back the arm/leg/knee warmers made with "Climalite." I bought a bunch of that stuff when Ullrich was in his heyday but it's pretty worn out now.

If it convinces Nike to jump back into the market and release the shoes they made for Cav and Blythe, that would be cool

As a 90s kid, being raised on football (or soccer as you guys call it ), and starting on road cycling only in the 2010s, it's a little weird for me to see Nike and Adidas in the cycling scene. I knew Lance was on Nikes, and Cav on Adidas in the T-mobile kit? But still very weird as I associate these brands with football/running. Still, I would love to own a pair of black Adidas cleats, especially with the iconic three white stripes. Wish it was in leather though! Not a fan of the new fabrics/knits/flyknit crap!
My dad often reminiscences his footballing days in the 70s/80s, and his all leather world cup boots/kaisers. A few days back, I saw some guy mod a pair of Puma Kings, chopped off the studs, and bolted on an spd cleat ! COOL. Last edited by dvnzzz; 11-28-2020 at 08:11 PM. |
