Show me your tool box

I don’t have one but am working on it - but saw this today and it sets the benchmark very very high.... I understand it’s pricey but I love it!!

(Abby (rip, good buddy) supervising, as I work...)

That’s an interesting tool box from Abbey. I was initially thrown off that it’s missing some things I’d expect to be standard (7/8mm wrench, mallet, torque tool of some kind, chain link pliers) but I see they give you that extra third insert to customise. That’s a great pre-made package. Much better than what Park seems to offer in my opinion.

Toolboxwars on Instagram is the way to go. Especially the chap with the rifle case has a brilliant box.

I’d guess that Park BX3 setup has 2x the tools and half the price, especially if you can get a shop discount. Abbey tools are nice though. As a former heavy equipment and diesel truck mechanic I can say this- cheap tools have really upped their game, I would not even consider Snap On (not saying I’d go to HF) anymore unless it was a special tool, that’s where they shine. I am lucky enough to have access to a CNC lathe and a couple of mills etc. at work so I have made many tools. Keep the pics coming!! If my tools were actually ever IN my box I’d snap a pic.

hijack accepted! my OG toolbox...

...purchased in 1987 from the local K-Mart...since been surpassed by much larger fully-sorted kit, but this is where i started. in fact, i till store some less-used tools in it.

pre-assembled "professional" toolkits never really took hold with me. my dad was a USAF maintainer -- about as professional as you could get -- and his toolbox was kitted out by various bits-n-pieces he accumulated over the years and reflected his mechanical experiences and preferences. i learned from him.

I wouldn't say that cheap tools have increased in quality across the board. Craftsmen is a great example of a company that has really taken a nose dive and they're barley worth warrantying at this point. As for Park, they have their place in the market and they serve it appropriately. But there's plenty of people that expect better and that's where we (Abbey) come in.

Bought a crombie /chain whip combo last year when the annual sale was in. Like them do much just ordered a track chain whip and 4 way tool today.

My tool box is my old timbuk2 bag. Thinking I'll make a series of hard backed tool wraps for it.

I am sure it was just a typo. the Park Tool EX-3 is $819 and it comes with a slew of tools.
