Di2 10 speed questions

I was curious if all shimano Di2 10 speed components are interchangeable?

For example, if I had a bike with Di2 ultegra, can I switch out any part to dura ace as long as it is 10 speed?

shifters, derailleurs, etc? Just plug and play right?

nope

6770 uses e-tube. older 7970 uses an entirely different interface. not compatible.

6770 derailleurs are compatible with any other e-tube based shifters though (e.g. 9150 shifters), as long as both derailleurs are 6770

There is a rumor of an older firmware update that allows 10/11 mech's to be mixxed in an otherwise e tube system...

7970 is the odd duck; run from this group.

I have the 2.5.2 firmware file that allows 6770 (10s Ultegra) front derailleurs to interface with 6870/9070 (11s Ultegra/DA) rear derailleurs. It will not work with the latest generation of rear derailleurs (Ult8050/DA9150) as they did not exist when the 2.5.2 firmware was published.

This guy has put the firmware out on Dropbox.

See above!

Bummer to see the news on the 8050 as a clutch was my ultimate problem solver/money waster.
