Now I know what my next cycling purchase will be. Darker sunglasses.

Just kidding. They look pretty cool.

Those are sweet looking! For what it's worth, I like the contrasting tongue.

I've got a Frank the Welder frame in the queue and it needs parts. Ordered up a Cane Creek 110 headset, some fenders, and DT Swiss 350 hubs and 411 rims to build another wheelset for it.

Technically, my most recent purchase was two pairs of Northwaves, though I have not yet picked them up. It will be the second time I've tried a new pair of shoes since about 1996 when I went to Carnac Legends. I'm looking forward to having some nice Italian shoes.

My penultimate cycling purchase is supposed to be showing up by UPS today. Starts with an "s" and ends with an "a".

I’m pretty excited about this eBay score - set of 28h 7700 hubs for $65 complete with skewers!

Pretty sure nobody else bid because the title called them “hubset” rather than just “hubs”.

This has been key to my getting out the door smoothly for a ride. Easily to toss in glasses, wallet, and a tool I expect to need to use as I sort things out (brake pads one day, seat/stem adjustments). The yellow is already showing the wear. They sold out shortly after I bought this. Just the right size to be able to move across bikes on bars or top tube. The swish bag sets off the retro bike.

Latest "Score"

My latest purchase was a Lazer Z1 helmet. My Kask developed a crack after two seasons of CX and XC. It was about time to try out a newer Lazer as my last one was purchased back in 2007. I am excited, this should match my Ostroy kit well!

This showed up today. I could actually see myself one day spending the money for a refinish. Maybe.

And now I've already found myself on the Dark Matter, Hot Tubes, Velocolour and Joe Bell websites and am staring at the order form. This would be a 2022 project at the earliest, but I can think about it a bunch between now and then.

Those are great hubs. I've had a pair in use for 19 years and countless miles and they are as smooth today as they were originally, without any service and little to no riding in the rain. Earlier this year I took my wheels to the LBS for servicing. The mechanic spun the wheels a bit and pronounced that they were "perfect as is, no reason to do anything."

Good score! I have several wheels built around these hubs.

Another reason no one else bid on them is these hubs are compatible with only 8-10 speed cassettes. They won’t work with 11 and soon to be 12 speed cassettes. Still, you got an excellent deal! Good Luck!

Thought I would give these Roka GP-1x shades a try for the times I wear contacts. They have great coverage and the lens is sharp and distortion free. A nice alternative to my old prescription Rudy Project Perceptions/RB3s. I really like the ability to customize them. IMG_20200718_151454-01.jpg
