Crap-a fellow rider hit yesterday

http://www.kezi.com/content/news/Bik...489317421.html

A fellow rider was hit yesterday evening and is in the ICU with massive head trauma. Apparently he was hit by 2 cars but the details are sketchy at this time.

I've been with Jeff on a ton of group rides, raced against him in both cross and crits- he's a really strong, solid rider and one of the nicest guys around. All of us are gutted.

Send him good thoughts, vibes and prayers.

Be careful out there.

So sorry to hear - his family must be distraught. Let us know if there's a Go Fund Me. In the meantime, thoughts & prayers.

I first read this as "crap a rider hit yesterday" - and was expecting pics of nails through tires and such..

Heart goes out to them and their family/community. Hoping for the best.

I just got back from the hospital. I saw my buddy in the ICU and spoke with his family for a long time. He's very ill and if he survives he's going to have a very long rehab. I personally think he will make it through physically as he's young ,48, and in excellent health.
I spent a long time on the phone with my other friend who was riding with him.It was very traumatic for him to see. Apparently they were heading into the sun, they both had rear blinkes on but a car going well over the speed limit hit our friend (who was riding behind) then went past the my friend in front with our other friend plastered on the hood and windshield. The car stopped, kind of pulled over then a second car came flying around the corner skidded to a stop but her wheels hit our friend as he was lying on the ground. so he was hit a second time.

Horrific

No Go fund me page that I know of as yet but it's been less than 24 hours.
I'll let people know if something gets set up.

Terrible.

I hate riding (or driving) into the sun and avoid it on the bike as much as possible. The thing is, even a blinkie that's bright under "normal" daylight conditions doesn't stand a chance against the sun.
