Velodrome Racing Pictures

I took pictures at the Velodrome in Blaine, MN last Thursday night. Blaine is a suburb north of Minneapolis. The races are short but pretty exciting. Men and Women compete. From some of the pictures you can see how close the fans are to the track.

Sadly 2019 will be the last year for the Velodrome. A lot of ups and downs over the years. Its amazing that an outdoor wooden track would last as long as it has. There is an effort to build a new indoor one.

Moto pacing is neat to watch. The guy on the motor bike has the best job in the Velodrome!

Great photos!! That is sad to hear it will be closing. We have a the 7-11 Velodrome here in Colorado Springs. It is great to go watch races but not well publicised. If local news and media got the word out, I think more people would attend these exciting track events.

Sweet pictures! I recognize a few familiar faces.

Next year will be my first year on velodrome and the last year of the NSC!

Hopefully the indoor track gets "traction", their proposed spot is only a stones throw from my back yard!
