What he said..I use this for 'antisieze', less $ than the bike specific stuff..very tenacious..but a good grease will work 2...

Haven’t had a Ti frame in a few years, but when my Litespeed Classic developed an annoying creak, it turned out to be the headset cups. The shop determined that the cups caused the creaking. They removed them, cleaned them up and reinstalled and used a Ti prep product.
Creaking was gone afterwards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Finish line ti prep - if you can’t wash it your fingers, it won’t wash off in the application area! The copper opposes the aluminum in the ti to prevent same metal fusion? or something a chemist could explain better? i allows wear my Sunday best when using it.

Thank you for reminding me to grease the seatpost(s) on my bikes. *done* (the bike outside will have to wait, but I know that it is greasy from recent experience)

Used anti-seize when installed. Redone today after reading this thread a few days ago. No problem removing. My frame has an insert, so its not Ti on Ti. Also, use Loctite on the collar bolt. My seat always slipped when the bolt loosened without it. |

I had been troubleshooting a creaking rear end on my ti bike for a few hundred miles, took out the post to grease, worked for a bit and then it came back within a few hundred miles. I got some ti prep to try instead and the day before it came it dawned on me to try greasing the saddle rail clamp hardware too and lo and behold that solved it. So for me, plenty of grease only has worked so far, fingers crossed.

I always thought lithium grease caused problems. Phil or Park doesn't have any in it AFAIK

I can't remember the regimen that led to this, but it didn't include ti copper anti seize: I have experienced what happens when tI seizes and it can destroy things! Lost a pair of Paragon dropout inserts and fancy ti bolts that way (and wound up walking home on a ride)!
