Oh, the hell with sunrise. When school is in session, I use the bike 2/3 days a week, leaving for work at around 4:30 am.

I've never had that issue with my kids. Maybe because my wife works on Saturday's and I was on duty and took them out to do fun stuff when they were little. Then in the summer I'd have them every Tues & Wed as well. Then came the bike trailer, then their own bikes on the rail trail.



During that time I'd get creative. If we were having a family gathering I'd ride to it and meet them.



Last summer my daughter (at 16 yrs old) did a 35 mile (organized) ride with me and this summer they've both been on the road with me and while my daughter has been working part time, my son (13) has put in quite a few miles.

Good to hear they enjoy the time out with you. I look forward to the day I can take them out on the climbs with me. As for now I'm enjoying every minute of them being 3 & 6
