Chapter 2 bikes
These bikes look really good to me as does the price point. Anyone have one?

Chapter 11 bikes are probably cheaper.

not only rims. https://www.chapter2bikes.com/range/rere/red-grey https://www.chapter2bikes.com/range/tere/blue-white Quote:
I haven't ridden one but all the people I have spoken too love theirs. Not many used ones for sale which is usually a good indicator. |

I built up a new rim-braked Chapter12 recently, and even test-rode it after.
What I remember most is the simplicity of getting the cables through lengthy pre-installed noodles, and the seemingly perfect press-fitting operation of the press-fit bottom bracket cups (never before seen both cups drive in together at the exact same rate, which speaks of great QC). Extensive test ride indicated a race-leaning steering response, but the frame was two sizes small for me so hard to evaluate. |

I don't have any experience riding a Chapter 2 bike so not much help there.
It may be of some interest to a few members that Michael Rice represents Chapter 2 bikes in the Japanese market. He does some segments on NHK's Cycle Around Japan. He is always riding Chapter 2 bikes and kits when he appears on the show. Here is a link with a picture of him and one of the Chapter 2 bikes in the upper left hand corner: https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/o...ype=tvEpisode& My wife and I really like the show. I like it because it features bike routes in Japan. My wife likes the show because the cyclists explore the culture of the different prefectures through which they ride. We visited Japan a coupe of years ago and I wish I had brought a bike with me. The roads are resurfaced every five years. The traffic in the areas that we traveled in the country side was light. The drivers were always respectful to other drivers and bike riders. There are plenty of mountain climbs in Japan on roads that see little use. Next time we visit, I am definitely taking my bike.
