Arrived...White Industries Headsets

So they just arrived and I am pretty impressed. They are light, clean and have US Made Enduro Stainless Steel bearings. Oh, and they're butter smooth!

They also come with an alloy pre-load bolt so you don't have to worry about sweat rusting out the steel ones that come with 90% of the other headsets out there. I also like that they come with a split ring fork crown race. It makes changing things out easier and you won't damage the crown or the race.

While the colors match everything White has, they won't match everything everyone else has. The blue is not as deep. The black and gold, not as polished. The red looks spot on. The silver, super high polished. I wouldn't be surprised if you could polish them up and make them shine and get closer to other companies.

Personally, I love em. I think they look great. I am going to put some one bikes today and will have them at NAHBS. So will a bunch of other people. Oh, and they do anode to match alloy headset spacers.

I've been holding off buying a CK headset for my new custom frame... this is better. And comes in purple!

Saw one on Sklar Bikes' Insta the other day. Looked really slick on a bike.

You can't anodize white. With the right surface prep, you can get pretty close with clear anodizing (which is what makes silver parts), but it's never really "white." I guess they could paint em, but that's not as pretty!

These are beautiful though! Will there be an option of a compression nut instead of the star nut?

So excited to see these. Also holding off on a new HS until these came out. Would you say the red is brighter/more intense than CS?

I would guess yes. But I don't know. I have to call them about something so I will ask.

CS? You mean Chris King? I would call it a 'blood red'. It's not as bright in my opinion. I like this one cause it matches the paint on the frame it's going on.

Interesting. Any idea how the pricing will compare to the CK and CC options?

+1

It's cool these exist, but they look like a 2017 version of the early 90s MTB parts. Should look good on some builds. Others not so much.

Not sure on this. I just spoke with them about something and they did not list a price yet.

They did not say about no logos yet.

They did say they will include an expander wedge ALONG WITH the star nut when they are available.

They also said they will be available in the standard colors they offer currently come September 2017.

They may have pricing come NAHBS though.

I will list measurements later.
