We're excited. Looks like some great riding out there, and access to bigger mountains should be fun!

That is awesome- it reminds me of a Roberts Roughstuff, which I have long lusted over.
What type of bags are those? I can only see the handsome Winter logo on them. |

Thanks! That is a full compliment of RuthWorks Ultralight customs built for the bike.

Very tasteful collaboration.
Out of curiosity, did you use a full-on touring tubeset, or something a bit more limber? I love these bikes that can handle exploration duties, but I have a tough time committing to a tubeset that rides stoutly on my commutes, which I inevitably like to also use the bike for. Do you prefer to go all-in on the specific application, or dial back slightly for alternate use enjoyment? I hope your move is going well. While exciting and hopeful, move logistics are usually a handful... I would imagine this is especially true with a bicycle fabrication operation in tow. Tube selection and design are all based on the rider, their uses, etc. In this case it's reasonably stout since it's essentially designed for mountain bike touring in Mexican backcountry. Still rides like a dream boat in SF. But if I do something similar it will likley be made differently based on that clients needs.

I've always wondered how a builder learns about tubing, what tubes to use and how a mixture of tubing, shaping, treatments will result in a ride for a rider of X size with Y usage.
Seems like so many variables in play and you can't test them all yourself since you can't ride all the diff sizes. Would love to know how builders create an Ollivander's magic mix. |

Thank you for sharing, Eric. Riding this rig while camping in the Mexican backcountry sounds like quite an adventure. I think I would also prefer a more stout, reliable tube selection for this use case.
