Chainring clearance possibilities

Thanks very much for weighing in, folks. I'll follow up if I try some chainring spacers (either .6 or 1mm) as suggested.

It's encouraging to hear from folks like Martl that little chainring clearance has not been an issue even on a potentially more flexible bike. I still find myself wanting juust a little more daylight.


As for the 0 offset chainring idea: I got in touch with Sram customer service to ask what offset their x-sync 1x chainrings have. I thought the teeth were offset some amount back towards the frame, but no:

"All of our road/gravel chainrings have no offset (or they have a 0mm offset, if you will). With X-SYNC road chainrings, the option to get more chainstay clearance would be by upgrading to a smaller chainring."
