Thank you to the Mods

These are trying times and I just want to say thanks to the mods for keeping this place neutral and peaceful.

I love this place as much as the next guy, but isn’t the ability to disengage in larger conversations about inequity something of a political move? Like, does getting to “not talk about it” mean we get to reframe our own narrative in a way that makes us more comfortable?

I don’t want to talk politics/racial injustice here...but I hope folks recognize that disengagement is a political move as well.

Yes, thank you mods for maintaining this place - and my apologies for posting what seemed like criticism on another thread that is now locked..

The reality is we do the best we can and the thank yous are appreciated.

None of us are retired and none of us are here 24/7.

The only way we know of an issue is if it is reported or we see something that grabs our attention.

And trust me, we don’t read every thread/post.

We are spread across the US so there is a decent amount of coverage but I am sure there are gaps.

We appreciate that most folks appreciate what we have tried to do over the years.

Thank you!

Although this is a thank you thread, the reality is that being a mod is a thankless job. Appreciate all the effort put into making this place sane.

Thanks from here, as well. I recognize the name of a few mods, but how many are there? Can names be posted?

Look at the bottom righthand corner of any subforum and the mods names are listed.

Thank you mods. It’s a privilege to be one but with all privileges there is work involved and tough decisions which makes it seem like a thankless job.

I remind everyone of what Desmond Tutu once said, “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”
