I am entirely pleased and happy with the flat-top, one-piece, Ritchey bar/stem.
My sole complaint is they should make the "knurled" section for levers larger.

I like the Bontrager aluminum aero bars.

I actually have two sets sitting around in I think 42mm width and it’s unlikely I’ll use both since I don’t even have a road bike right now, if anyone wants one for the cost of shipping or whatever.

Edit: bars are spoken for!

I use Ritchey Streem bars on three bikes and I really like them. Can be found for less than $60.

Better get in on some quick......."really wide flat tops", Believe 38's are becoming quite the norm, replacing the 46 O to O of yesteryear, lol!

what else is out there with a similar shape and nice wide flat top. note that i dont really care about the actual aero benefit, i just think that shape up top is a comfortable hand position. obviously aluminum is fine and even preferred if something is comparable?

thoughts?

Pro

Another bar to consider is the Pro Vibe Aero- Nice shape, and the wing is not too broad. Makes for a nice all around bar.

These are my current favorites. But I'm not sure if they are as flat as Angry is looking for.

Edit: Note that these do have a bit of flare to them, and the width at the hoods is less than it is on the drops.

I started using the FSA K-Wing AGX this summer, I find them to be super comfortable, flat on top with a bit of flair...

Control tech EXL

Check these out. Easy to source on Amazon and seem to be popular at the UK online bike shops. Look similar to Enve.

They've had that for a while now. I had it on my Allez sprint for a year or so - and while it does seem nice and its cheap, it was a jackhammer on my hands and I went back to a round bar. I also have nerve damage on my right hand, which doesnt help, so YMMV.

I have a pair of these on a very unique carbon bike. Reasonably light, very flat and aero, compact enough. They build into a very aero looking package if you manage the cables properly after exit.

+1 for the Enve SES road bar.

Admittedly it took some time to get used to the feel of the flat, wide tops. I do like it now. I also dig the small amount of flare. The routing for cables in the bar is good.

Yes, they are pricey. I bought mine off local CL (NIB) for $250 (still a lot for bars imo).

I have the Zipp SL70 Aero handlebar on one of my bikes. When I bought it a few years ago, it was the same mass as the Enve Aero, but cheaper. Solid hand positioning on the tops, and in the drops. At the time, not all aero handlebars had a straight section at the front of the drops. That’s the part that makes for comfortable hand positioning for me.

A friend is looking for an aero handlebar, so I have been pushing him towards the Shimano Pro Vibe Superlight. It is pricier though.

This is the exact bar I have. I know it's not "new for 2021" or anything, just newer than their previous aerobar. It's been very good for me on my Madone, but I don't take that one out unless it's a race or a "very spirited group ride under 2 hours".
