After trying some pre-loved shoes and a pair of Shimano via online I decide to hit the LBS and ante up for shoes that I could actually try on and see if they fit. Turns out my feet have shrunk just like my waistline so I had to ante up for these....but LORDY the price tag!!!!

Daaaaaag! Che fortuna! More than a few of your fellow PLers have been looking for one of those.

I just sent my Davidson Stiletto to Adam Blumenthal for new paint and I am freaking out with giddy anticipation! I am sticking close to original color (fine metallic purple), maybe a subtle prismatic flourish or two. Going with alloy Chorus gruppo instead of blackout 10sp Record or or 12sp carbon Chorus scheme. Tough choice, but I think the lugged steel and 1" headtube call for the silver parts. This means I need to find some silver x silver 10sp Chorus or Record wheels. PM me, darlings.

Also saw a helmet that will go with this at the LBS: Lazer G1 in a prismatic "purple haze." So neither of these is technically a recent purchase, let alone my most recent purchase. Yeah, well, I'll report back with 'after' pix.

My actual most recent cycling related purchase?

A new Diverge Pro with Force Etap. Great bike, will be better as a 2x.

I wouldn’t rule out chorus 12 with the wheels, bar, stem and seatpost in silver. You could also do a pair of silver Campagnolo brake calipers. I think it would be the best of both worlds.

Time Cyclo 2 Pedals

Trying these pedals as a new winter/gravel pedal. Was interested in the idea of a more road-pedal-like-feel with 2-bolt shoes, which is essentially the marketing spiel for this pedal.

The first pair I got had a dangerously bad right pedal -- hard to clip in and nearly impossible to unclip. Vendor sent me a replacement pair.

Today was the first ride, they ride nicely. I'd say the platforms have a good feel. There's no tension adjustment on these, and the tension is a bit lower than I'm used to, but fine once you get accustomed to it.

I felt like one of the pedals (the left one this time) was maybe a tiny (tiny) bit fiddly and not fully locked in. I'm not sure if I'm being picky or if and this is just normal, or if Time quality control is just not very good.

Let's see how these break in, I'm cautiously optimistic.

I got tired of waiting for these to become available and went with discontinued LOOK S-tracks which had similar concept and reviews.

Medium cage derailleur for the Swiss Cross build, courtesy of forum member Birch (went 46/30 on the front, so needed a bit more cage).

Now if the Paul brakes would just finally show up I could get this bike out of the stand, grrrrr!

Put a deposit down on having an English Cycles frame built today. Unfortunately it’s about 18mo wait but that gives me time to figure out exactly what I want and also be prepped for new Shimano release.

Broke down and bought a Tacx Neo to start training again. Also outfitted my Vanila with some PDW metal fenders for fall commuting.

Finally built and taken for it's maiden flight! That brutally hard, vintage saddle "taint" gonna stay.... Thanks to the PL members that helped me get the needed DA 8 spd goodies to match up with the shifters. Might do something about the heavy vintage wheels....maybe...
