I enjoyed the BBC morning news listening to the news reader lament the poor play of both England and Wales.

Well, it had to be him. That bad bad man Pulisic delivers, at some cost to himself.

And so close for Weah Jr.

How come we have seen no replay of the Weah offside call. Just a funny animated picture.

Nervy match (again)
The kids should have put it away early. Had to suffer late as a result.
Again outstanding first half, definite drop-off in the second 45 minutes
- What does Reyna have to do to get on the pitch?

fingers crossed on the injuries.

Shaq Moore has more minutes than Gio Reyna. Would have been nice to have a holding midfielder in that last 20 minutes instead of just packing it in and hoping for the best while Haji Wright allowed free lanes for the Iranian fullbacks to pass.

I thought the same as well. Didn’t even show it at halftime less than. 5 minutes after it occurred.

This team definitely has a hard time putting the ball in the net but overall I’m otherwise pleased with the play. I think Pulisic being out second half had its effects as the Iran defense really centered on him in first half.

Neither Wright nor Moore performed well, but they seem to be “Gregg’s guys”. What does Scally need to do to get on the field?

And ditto re: Reyna. Oh well.

As i commented way back, the success of this team is in spite of GGG, as opposed to being attributable to him

Exactly - this does worry me as adjustments should be made at half time,
but were not - including appropriate substitutions (Moore and Wright).
Hopefully McKennie can go longer as I believe his absence contributed to the drop-off.

We do need to see it - from the one and only view I saw, it looked like his knee was over the line.

Agreed on WMcK. If he was fully match fit, that MMA midfield would be scary good for 90.

They (MMA) will pose problems for the Dutch. Interesting tactical match forthcoming.

Van Gaal’s counterattacks could pose a serious problem against this side.

But the Dutch defense isn’t fully watertight either

Props again to Tim Ream, who has impressed me this tournament. Such a calming influence back there & always in the right place. He's playing some fantastic CB.

the law needs re-writing to be based on feet. not knees and heads.
