Passing on an easy way to clean sealant off your frame
Today I got a puncture, but not a flat. I love tubeless.
It was messy, and it LOOKED like every drop of sealant had escaped. I was sure the tire was flat. Nope. Plenty firm to get me home. Now, of course the dreaded cleaning of the frame and parts. I took a rag, and buffed the carbon frame much like you might on your shoes, back when you used to polish shoes. Wrapped the rag around the tubes, pulled it back and forth, all that dried sealant came right off. Took ten min to clean the entire frame, and most of that was around the crank. Luckily, I wax the chain and the area was pretty clean, so easy to do. Just use a dry rag. No water, no polish, no nothing. Looks like it never happened. Just don't do it in the middle of your living room rug. It does make a mess of the floor under the bike, but that's easy to clean up |

What, no one polishes shoes anymore? I do.
Thanks for the tip. |
