I just finished a stretch at work where I was doing 7 days a week,10 to 12 hour day for the last 6 weeks. My time on the bike was non existent. Have a few rides in this week and did a nice 50 miler first thing this morning.
Its good to be back on some normal hours as well as back on the bike.
Now I will have time to build up the Sarto Classica that I picked up here a few months ago.

Got in another short ride this morning in my attempt to gain back a little fitness after a couple of years of iffy health (including this spring). I was riding the recently rebuilt CSi--it is very nice ride.

Lovely morning--I did my usual route--up the hill into Harriman. Saw quite a few fellow cyclists, including a small group who looked to be on their way home a little after I got started.

One thing's for sure--fitness is easy to lose.

50 yesterday on a supposed century I had to turn back early on to make a drs appt.

50 today in a large group on the old ciocc.

Nothing better than riding old steel and tubbies amongst all the black plastic and crushing it.

I feel like Conan today......not the late night one, the Arnold one:

Was supposed to do 50 with a couple buddies. Forecast called for hot and muggy, slight chance of a T storm. Woke up, raining. Ride cancelled. Hour later, still raining. Hoping to get out soon after. Still raining. It's now noon, and raining harder. Temp is a scorching 68 degrees, not 87. Now I have to go to work. Wife asks why so grumpy. Get to work. Sunny

64 miles, 66 feet of climbing(seriously flat around here), temps hit 90 and humidity dropped below 50% for the last half of the ride. Typical SE Texas ride.

nice! it's always good getting back on the saddle after an injury.

I put in 26 mi and 2625 ft of climbing today..and got smoked by a dude doing repeats of a climb on a single speed beach cruiser looking doohickey! I keep telling myself I'll be cycling fit again someday. still enjoying it, though!

I got out for 50 enjoyable mies on some not so enjoyable roads. Overall felt good to be hot again and had a nice conversation on my ride home through town with an old guy named Bob. Bob got hit last year on his bike by a medical resident and was interested in my Flare R light.

A hot muggy 60 on the fixed gear on as many "hills" as I could find.

Frantically trying to get ready for France - 9 days in the Pyrenees and 3 days in the Alps.

Have about 1/6 th of the miles needed in the legs.

Leave in 30 days...

I'm going to get smoked...

Joel

Went out and wandered around for about 3 hours @ 6:00. I dont know how far and dont really care. Took some trails, roads and some β€œB” roads. Had a blast. Saw one car and one bike. It was a good day on the bike.

Got my eight-year-old son out for his first ride of summer vacation today.

No photos, but we had a nice spin through the neighborhood, 'racing' around the blacktop at the local elementary school, then stopping by a nearby sno-cone kiosk on the way home.

Summer is great.

32 miles on my regular in-town route...

knocked out 1200 yards in the pool to cool off.
