Jan Ullrich...back in the news!

https://cyclingtips.com/2018/08/ullr...d-in-mallorca/

Jan Ullrich arrested in Mallorca
...
Ullrich was not invited to the gathering, and reportedly climbed over the fence.

This is why 90's pro cycling was way better than today's pro cycling. Do you think Froome or Bardet would ever do this?

They would not be physically able to lift themselves over a fence...

Yeah, they'd have to link a bunch of them together to form a chain.

That picture of Jan on a tandem with Kessler made me cry a little.
I always loved watching him in the Tour. His emotions were on his face for all to see. That's what made him such a fascinating champion.
I remember going to a talk given by one of his Telekom team mates years ago. He reinforced the talk about his constant battles with weight but...

Jan would arrive at training camp in the back of the bus cleaning out the contents of a pint of ice cream.
The first day he would be dropped like a stone on the climbs.
Second day he would match the tempo of the team.
Third day they couldn't keep up with him.

I hope to meet him some day
