good interview on rkp podcast

If you like skratch drinks and the new bars it's worth listening to this interview with one of the founders on RKP podcast.

I got mine and then promptly took them on a 200k brevet on Saturday.

The cherry and pistachio bar was excellent. The chocolate chip and almond was acceptable. The ginger and miso was gross. It tasted like a granola bar with a lot of pepper in it. I'll pass on that flavor.

Overall, I would buy them if their pricepoint was lower. I normally stick to Clif bars and sometimes Lara bars. The Skratch bars are more than double the price, even with the coupon.

I threw the ginger one to the weeds. That was terrible. The other two were okay.

I enjoyed it.

I've not tried the ginger/miso yet. Anything that might've tasted like a chocolate chip was overpowered by the dried cranberries which weren't even listed as a main ingredient on the bar. The cherry/pistachio was OK but nothing to get excited about. Overall, I found the two rather bland --- I'm scared to try the ginger one after reading above!

The ginger burned the back of my throat! And I love ginger.

I'm going to stick to Costco fig bars and bananas...

tried the ginger/miso on this evening's ride. Didn't have the strong negative response that some others have. Taste was ok, but I'd want to use it on tours/easy rides vs hard efforts as it was sharp and felt I needed a lot of water afterwards. I think it would be distracting during harder effort rides.

liked the ginger / miso, probably more so than the other two flavors...

bottom line is that I don't see myself ever purchasing any of them.

Just tried my free sample at yesterday's ride.

Don't like it.

Too sweet.

Too sticky.

Still prefer this.

Cheap cheap @ Costco.

Bought like a dozen back a few months ago when they had a sale.
Ate them as snacks even off the bike
Depleted my supplies, need to restock.
