Excellent story. Read "Raven Rock" a couple years ago and reading your story makes it all more real. Also all of your family history and the impact on the area decades later is very cool to go back to and introduce others to it.

Thank you for writing and sharing the story. I was in Jr. High when the missile crisis happened and we were fortunate that JFK made the decision that he did.

Loudoun County looks like a nice place to ride!

Great article; really enjoyed it. I like how one’s connection to a place changes over the years. I’ve ridden quite a bit in the Roanoke area. Now I want to spend some time up there.
