I have barely used mine but if I go pick up food (which has been rare, 2x in a month and 2 weeks) I will put it on for that false security.

We got the Orucase ones

They are pretty comfortable - we made ours behind the head ( the ties can be tied either way).

They have a pocket for an N95 filter but we have not been able to find them yet.

I tried a "tie behind the head" mask. It was OK sitting up. However, when I got on the bike and tilted my head up, the tension on the top tie went way up, mashing my nose flat. I lasted less than one block before I had to stop and remove it.

I got mine because I have to wear it food shopping or to go to the LBS. It's interesting to note people's perceptions of those both wearing masks and those choosing to go without.

I was all set to order a couple of these - I really like that they donate and they have a provision to add a filter, but they recently changed the design from elastic to straps you have to tie which would drive me nuts. Orucase said they may offer the elastic again at some point- hopefully. Also saw on IG Patagonia is working on a mask design-wasnt clear if those will come be available to consumers or first responders and hc workers only.

Interesting, I did not know that and I've used their gear since the early 90's. You learn something new everyday.

yeah mine are the strap ones and I do wish it was elastic. However they work pretty well but are a bit more of a pain in the ass (also wish the straps were longer)

@donevwil...is the "closed" part of that loop elasticized and simply pulls over your head for the Walz mask?

Good to know, @palincss. Might have to have different types for different tasks. Thanks!

Good luck with that. I'm thinking wearing a mask in public is going to be required for much of the summer.

I bought a tie-behind mask for just that reason, but I find that it doesn't stay put very well. I think I may sew on some elastic for the ears (and cut off the ties).

I've been using basic ones that take an insert ( I don't aways use) that are the elastic type and adjust.

An interesting thing....I just got back from a ride and a woman was parked in town on the side of the road with her van's back hatch open selling ones she had made. I didn't stop because I had no cash on me.

What a world.
