The seatpost is what I have available in the parts bin, I have since switched saddles and moved it forward. The seat tube angle is also steep as compared to other bikes so the setback is nice. When I have time / money, I am going to get another seatpost.

In terms of nationals, likely no. I do not race, just ride the track for fun and some basic winter conditioning. It was either a smart trainer or this bike and I like track a lot more than I like sitting in my basement.

Mine

After Labor Day the velodrome in Trexlertown opens up for non racers to get on the track. About every other week I venture up (45 min drive) and spend about 2 hours riding. Sometimes just circiling with headphones and other times do some pacing and hard efforts. Stripped this down and rattle canned it.

Ive never ridden a track bike more than in a circle on a friend's way-too-small track bike, but these sure look pretty. That Nagasawa is stunning, Weisan.

Also, the Spectrum is amazing too.

Seeing modern aluminum frames vs sleek older steel ones makes me wonder what the design goal of a track bike is - I have always assumed POWER and stiffness at the sacrifice of comfort, so why wouldnt the option always be the aluminum beasts these days? Why would people choose steel (or carbon or ti for that matter) if the goal isnt as much ride quality as crushing corners?

I am probably oversimplifying it as I am sure that riding boulder stiff track bikes is probably scary because they dont flex and support the rider - they just carry them and bounce them around if any mistake is made? Right?

That Serotta is sweet! Here are two of mine. I have pantographed stems for both of them but they currently are not installed.

I regret not buying this.

I built a SC roadster couple months back. Just curious do you folks have tow overlap on your track bikes?
