No, not mine. They're on my route a few miles from my home. I chat with their owner occasionally because I'm fascinated by the birds. He hires them out for weddings, funerals and such. He used to race them but I don't think he's still doing that.

It was a beautiful day to be on a bike!

The group I ride with is still (and will be for the foreseeable future) organizing weekly social distance rides. Today's ride was a 61-mile loop through some beautiful countryside in southcentral Minnesota.

4 Dog Day!

More fun with pups mugging for my GoPro! The black lab in the first photo below is such a sweetheart. His is always a half-hearted attempt to give chaseβ€”I think mostly so he can tell his friends he at least tried. 😁 I've stopped and petted these rascals before. They know me!

No Particular Place to Be

I left home intent on doing a loop out toward Jordan but having missed a turn in that direction, I decided to pedal south into the wind and see where I ended up. It was a nice, relaxing ride that I made up as I went along. 73.5 miles (118 km) of gravel, asphalt, and one dog chase that nearly caught me with my guard down.

If you're at all intrigued by the gravel scene, please do yourself a favor and borrow a friend's gravel bike and experience it for yourself. You won't be sorry. In fact, you'll be glad you did when you realize the abundance of gravel roads you've likey never given much thought to that will enhance your normal routine of paved roads you've been riding forever.

TimeWarp

I'm finding the TimeWarp feature of my GoPro camera to be especially helpful in showing people the beauty of the gravel roads I ride. Rather than merely stitching together a few small snippets of video at normal speed, I can show miles of roads in a short clip using TimeWarp. I'm also very pleased with the job my rear-facing camera is able to capture video of pups giving chase to me.

Daylight Fading

Sometimes a short loop is all that's needed.

Making the Rounds in Farmington

I met up with some friends at BlueNose Coffee in Farmington, Mn this morning, but on my way there I took a slight detour to pass by the facility where I used to work as an air traffic controller. I retired 5 years ago tomorrow. I then made a quick stop at my brother's cabinet shop in Farmington (Dakota Wood Design) to say hello. It was a nice morning on my bike.

one pal, my favorite part of your video is the last bit with the beautiful flowers in front of your house.

Thanks, my friend. I think it's kinda fun to end the videos that way, showing how the flower bed changes with the seasons. I hope all is well with you and your family. πŸ₯‚

Chased by a Water Bottle! 😲

I'm enjoying the cooler, less humid weather. I took advantage of the cooler temps yesterday to do my loop out to Jordan; a 49-mile mix of gravel and pavement.
