We used to get them on our hands, especially the old crotched ones.

The train hopper with the corn on the tracks reminds me of a ride where I came upon someone did that at a farm. He was out sweeping the road. Not sure if he did all 3 miles.

I once got a burn so bad on the back of my hands that it blistered. Too bad nobody makes skin protected full finger gloves
