Loose Ball Bearing Source?

Is this the current least expensive, best supplier to purchase loose ball bearings, requiring 100+ in 4 different sizes?

The Bearing Ball Store

McMaster-Carr is my favorite place for this sort of thing. Not always the cheapest, but they ship super-fast and have just about everything.

Plus the catalog and web site are easy to use and have tons of helpful information.

Any bike shop that doesn't have loose ball bearings is lost. You can also get ceramic balls to replace steel bearings too.

Thanks all for your replies, I went ahead and ordered from The Ball Bearing Store, unfortunately any bike shop matching their price wouldn’t be around long anyway, unless all they sold was large volumes of bearings. Quality, well guess I will find out once my order arrives.

And for those looking for instant gratification, this presenter Hambini, https://www.youtube.com/user/nrgizerbunny on Youtube has some decent and somewhat interesting reviews and technical videos on bicycle bearings and aero.

Curious as to you guys with many multiple sets of wheels, service your self, have someone else service them, or sell and buy more wheels?

Yup and with mild, normal hub steel cups and cones you almost guarantee pitting both.

I sold American made, grade 25 bearing balls sourced from Wheels Manufacturing for $.10 per...with shipping was this online place that much cheaper? I saw 3/16 were $5 for 100....plus ship.

The Ball Bearing Store, my bill, Wheels Manufacturing Web site does not even show lots of 100 in any size beyond 7/32 and their listed price for 7/32 X 100 is currently $12.50.

1 x 100 1/4" --Chrome steel bearing balls chrome--1/4-100 $6.00
1 x 100 7/32" Chrome steel bearing balls chrome-7/32-100 $5.00
1 x 100 3/16" Chrome steel bearing balls chrome-3/16-100 $5.00
1 x 100 5/32" Chrome steel bearing balls chrome-5/32-100 $6.00
Sub-Total: $22.00
Zone Rates (Shipping to US (0.55lb(s))): $3.32
Total: $25.32

I've had very fast shipping and good prices from bocabearings.com. I'm rebuilding an old Microsoft Trackball Explorer (cult favorite) with 5/64 ceramics.

Thanks much, Boca Bearing seems to have a much better selection than The Bearing Ball Store, some Grade 5 and 10 Chrome steel balls at reasonable cost.
