Bates Road Frameset . Condition is new Bates Volante Road bike frame set , brand new and never ridden. This is the top line Volante model with the fancy lugs. Was built in 2011 by Mercian cycles in Derby from the one of the last volante Reynolds Cantiflex Tubing sets purchased directly from Ray Etherton including the famous Diadrant fork blades. (See classic lightweights webpage for more info) Bike was built and hung in a collection and never ridden. (Paint partly missing from dropouts from wheels being installed, see pictures) Frame set was built with all the usual mounting points for mudguards and rack. Cantilever brakes means loads of room for big tires and mudguards. Very rare opportunity to buy a very special frame from one of the most important british frame manufacturers.
