Play in cassette on hub?

I just pulled apart my Campy Chorus cassette & cleaned it. Put it back together, and there is a small bit of side to side play as it sits on the hub. I've done this many times before, just did it with another wheelset yesterday, and never noticed this before. Is this acceptable/normal? It's possible it has always been like this, and I just never noticed since it is a small bit of play. I do remember the one I did yesterday sat very tight on the hub.
One note...a spacer on this cassette is cracked, but none of it is missing so it would take up the same amount of room.

Make sure the free hub body is tight. 5mm Allen in axle end, 17mm open end...LEFT threaded so lefty righty.

Well, I would not have thought to check the actual freehub body, but that's it. Took the cassette off & the play is there. White Industries hub. And I can't figure out how to tighten that part. 5mm fits nowhere. There's a 2.5mm hole on the other side & it is snug. Tightening it a bit does nothing for this. I can't seem to get the end caps off. Ideas? Or better yet, know how to do this?

EDIT: I found this thread (https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=209890) that sounds like the same issue. I started from step 9, as suggested. Couldn't get it any tighter.

Need to loosen those wee set screws on non drive side..not all the way out..just looen a bit..put hub in some sort of dropouts to compress all the hub guts, THEN tighten the wee set screws..
