Thank you, Oliver!
Yeah. It's probably a 1in. The dropouts do look smaller. Darn was hoping for 1 1/8in. |

I don't see, in the photos you've presented, anything out of the ordinary with the frame. Sometimes, in my experience, this designation was used simply before a serial number designation was assigned to a model. That paint looks to me to not only be not the original, but not performed at the factory, not even as a custom scheme, due to the decals. The TiMax frame in the 2006 catalog was painted at the factory. The bike you have may simply have a finish that was inspired by that catalog photo, or indeed be the catalog bike with a non-factory refinish job.

My Serotta's SN is CCI 57 006 on what I believe to be a circa 2003 Legend Ti with carbon st seat stays. Tubes are straight, not Colorado. Anybody have any thoughts? Bought it on Ebay three years "refurbished" with new incomplete decals, trying to make period correct.

2009 Serotta Legend
I've skimmed the thread, but didn't see this designation for a Legend. I'm told by the seller, which was a shop that it was a 2009. It does have a "custom" sticker on it, but here is the reply to my query.
The frame is not custom. Serotta was doing a program that they called custom but it was NOT custom Geometry. There is no way I would order custom geometry for a stock or non sold bike. They were also trying to get me any of the original paperwork but never came through. |

I’m intrigued by the “003” stamping.
The 2009 models known as “ready custom” were the HSG and Fierte with all their permutations. Never saw a mention of the Legend being involved in any custom program (other than the regular Serotta Fit customs) but your serial number seems to confirm the start of a new model’s production sequence. Could we get a pic of the “custom” sticker? |

Colorado II production year ID
Hi all,
I recently found a Colorado on Nextdoor for $25 and could not resist. I plan to revive it. It is dirty and has some paint issues but should look nice when done. It is a dark (almost black) green. Has mostly DA 7400 parts. Going through the various threads here I came up with Colorado II from around 1993 but have not been able to find a catalogue or other picture to confirm. Here's the serial number "SC58L 3030". Any pointers are welcome. Thanks! |

Yes, $25! Couldn’t believe it when I saw the posting. But it was true.
A little too small for me, I’m afraid. I’ll clean it and see how it feels, then I’ll decide what to do next. Last edited by batmick1; 09-20-2019 at 10:29 PM. Reason: Missed something |

Took off all parts and did a quick cleaning. Definitely needs some work for rust spots and paint cancer but should come back nicely. You can tell it is green only in the sun, otherwise it looks black.
Parts are a wild mix of originals, with DA 7400 brifters, 7402 cranks, rear derailleur and brakes. Wheels are newer as are some of the other parts. I can't find any markings on the headset. Looks similar to an old Tange or Onza but has cartridge bearings. I'll leave it in as it rolls smooth. Paint may not be original as there's a sticker by the BB that reads "Painted by Rainbow Cyclecraft, Niwot Colorado". Or was that a common sub for Serotta? |
