Yes, it's dbrk pal.

This is my "favorite" Luigino

Yeah, that Luigino is probably one of the classiest bikes ever assembled.

OTOH, I'm leaning towards a Duende. Just hasn't happened yet, though I've been thinking about getting a Pegoretti for probably over a decade.

Heh - I almost posted that Luigino earlier in the thread, but felt like I was keeping it my secret.

If that moves on here, I'm offering cash fast.

That Lui is local to me and I have seen it on the road and in the shop. It's pearlescent. Really beautiful. Interestingly the LBS owner has one just like it.

Ha - I wonder who got theirs first.

The Bay Area has such a nice population of bicycles. I enjoyed seeing what would roll by out there.

idk...the bay area has plenty of $$$$ builds but from an artisianal standpoint, one really does not see many NAHBS examples rolling around. they are out there, but life to date i've seen a handful of sachs, two kirks, one ellis, one JPW, one ira ryan, a few SV, a few Vanilla, one zanc, one crumpton, quite a few Pegs..

now, if you ask me how many s-works roll by...that is a massive number

That might be the prettiest frameset I've ever seen.

Depends a lot on who has local distribution. I haven't seen any Richard Sachs out here, but I have seen quite a few Baums, Scarabs, and going back a few years there were lots of Steelman and Paul Taylor bikes too.

But yes, Specialized is king here, which makes sense since they're local.

Ditto.
The only reason I would sell my Duende is because I replaced it with a Respo (though damn that Luigino is gorgeous).

Nah. I'm a former owner of five Pegs and I mildly regret selling only one of them. Two of the five were Marcelos, and neither of those is the bike I mildly regret selling. One of the Marcelos was pretty good, but barely had clearance for 25s and was too stiff, while the second rode like a board. If someone offered me a choice of two nice bikes for the same price, one of them a Peg, I'd choose the other.

Lets be honest, if we were to strip the paint off, and repaint with a 'Raleigh' logo, most people would say they ride like crap. Thats nothing against Dario's frames, same could be said for any high price steel frame out there (same for carbon).

"Stiff yet compliant" anyone??

I respectfully disagree.

I said this recently ..... we all look for and feel different experiences when riding a bike, so what I am looking for or what feels right to me may not be your jam....

Thats the real truth.

Look at it this way, take any food or drink, some may say they taste this or they taste that, others may not notice that nuance at all. We are all different and we all look for and feel different experiences when riding a bike. So who are we to say what other people will or will not like ??

If you want a Pegoretti get a Pegoretti and enjoy the ride !
