I wonder if you are thinking of the Serotta CST? The CST (Colorado Soft Tail) was the only production suspension bike Serotta ever offered. This bike is a one-off I designed and built in the early 1990's as an "after school" project. It was not a officially sanctioned project and it was never offered for sale. The bike pictured is the only one of its kind. It was designed to test suspension geometry and pivot technology and was built and on the trail for some time before the unified rear triangle was made popular by other brands like Ibis. It was never meant to be a saleable product but instead it was a test mule. I always expected to make a fully refined version but never did and just kept riding this one for many years. The pivot is very low and rearward compared to the other URT's and gives much better response when out of the saddle (the "sweet spot" Ibis was more of less locked out once the rider lifted their weight off the saddle). It was a good design in its day but of course the 4 bar designs of today are much better in large part due to their rear wheel travel path. That said one thing I'm proud of is the pivot used in the design. It uses two angular contact bearings running on a Ti spindle and it has zero play even after being flogged for a few decades. Anyway - it's a fun piece of history and still a ball to ride. dave |

I've always wanted to say this - "just in time for the Holidays...."
I now have Giordana cotton cycling caps in stock and ready to ship. Winter's here and you should really wear a hat at all times for safety sake....my mom thinks you'll catch a cold if you don't. Listen to my mom. Here's a link to make a purchase. Dave http://kirkframeworks.com/models-and...-cycling-caps/ ![]() |

I'm not mistaken about the ride quality though. It was an awesome whip.

I don't usually wear cycling caps - but I feel like I have to own all the Kirk merch, so I ordered one!

I just ordered a cap as well, no error messages so you must have got that fixed. Now I need to keep saving for an Onesto with Campy like the one shown above.

This Onesto is headed to Canada where is will be built up with it's painted-to-match fenders and Velo Orange brakes. I'm excited to see how it comes out.

So simply and elegant. Those steel forks just add to the Kirk look. This is possible my favorite looking Kirk. Again understated elegance.

There may have been a few typos in my late post but that was with a few dark beers.
