Pegoretti-Marcello-55cm
What a unit. If one the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were to ride a bike, this is what he would mount.

I wouldn't expect that to go anywhere until the price goes in half.

Agree or even less. Frejus was never a top shelf in the classic bike world, more mid range.

Repeating myself as a newer member posted this in GD … certainly not the first time I've seen the 'ethnic' scheme but definitely the only one that wasn't blue/purple/gold on very dark blue. Love this scheme, but then again I'm biased https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=231756
That Mingus above is stellar, haven't seen many of those. |

Team LeMond Pro, Hand Built by Roland Della Santa, 60cm - Very Rare - $3,000
Team LeMond Pro, Hand Built by Roland Della Santa, 60cm - Very Rare - $3,000
This is one of the few frames Master Frame builder Roland Della Santa hand build for Greg Lemond to launch the Team LeMond Pro bicycle line. Bottom is stamped DS for Della Santa along with TL 140, with TL designating Team LeMond. I sent photos of this bike to Della Santa before his passing and he confirmed it is one of the frames that he build for LeMond around 1987. Della Santa did not keep detailed records on the frames he build for LeMond so I was unable to get much history but I did have someone on the Della Santa Facebook group reach out and indicate that he was a team mechanic in the 80s and thought this was one of their team race bikes. Frame size is 60cm. This probably would have been a full C-Record bike most likely with pantographed parts which some of which have been replaced over time. Drivetrain is Shimano 600 Tri-Color in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. Original Campagnolo C-Record parts that remain are the bottom bracket, headset, brakes, brake levers and the front hub. I went through he headset and bottom bracket when I received the bike several years ago. Overall cosmetic condition is very good and the original paint by Cycle Art in San Marcos California is excellent. The bike rides great, has new tires, tubes and cables, it needs nothing and is ready to ride or display. I've decided to sell this bike due to the frame being too large for me. It's a 60cm, I'm 5'10" with short legs, I still ride it but it's not optimal. This is a very rare opportunity, Della Santa frames are highly prized and very few bikes were made under the Team LeMond Pro name with fewer being hand build by Greg LeMonds first frame builder and sponsor. Please email with questions or to make arrangements to view. I will remove this listing immediately upon sale so if you are reading this I still have the bike, thanks. https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/...258512687.html |
