Thumbs up

Lots of terrific folks who genuinely love bicycles and cycling.
I have met dozens of Paceline and VSalon folks in real life.

rec.bicycle.tech

Jobst used to be on .tech a lot..where I 'met' him..and got 'schooled' by him..

Indeed. I've been into bikes since I was a kid in the '60's. I learned early on that there isn't a single non-cyclist that gives a red rat's rectum (damn near killed 'um) what I am on about. In line with what the OP is saying, my Bilenky is special to me. I love that bike, but nobody else does. No one understands why I paid what I did for it. I feel the same way about non-cyclists now the same way I did about civilians when I was a GI. If you served, you know what I mean. If you didn't you don't have a clue.

He is a good writer, and provided a healthy perspective on our sport.
